Saddle Hills PCN - Nurse Practitioner


Full–Time Nurse Practitioner Position (0.8-1.0 FTE)

Location: County of Grande Prairie

The Saddle Hills Primary Care Network is seeking a Nurse Practitioner. Working to full scope of practice, this position will provide comprehensive nursing services within the primary care setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the care of individual patients, practice populations and associated communities.
  • Provide restricted activities and care within the full scope of practice as defined under the Health Professions Act (HPA).
  • Make professional, competent, and autonomous decisions with patients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • One evening shift per week required. 
  • Delivery of services to outreach clinic one day per week, travel compensated.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of disease management and health promotion programs.

Requirements:
  • Nurse Practitioner currently enrolled with CARNA extended practice roster.
  • Licensed to work with populations of all ages.
  • Preferred 3 years of directly related experience in a primary health care, community health nursing, northern nursing and /or ambulatory care nursing, with an emphasis on primary care services.
  • Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current criminal record check.
  • Computer skills required. EMR experience would be an asset.

Central Peace Health Centre in Spirit River, Alberta is looking for a qualified Medical Office Assistant / Receptionist to provide clinical and administrative support as part of our medical office healthcare team. There is the potential for either a full-time or part-time casual position.

 The clinic serves approximately 6,500 patients in the community and surrounding area and is one of six clinics within the Saddle Hills Primary Care Network in northwestern Alberta, one hour north of Grande Prairie.
