Saddle Hills PCN History:
West Peace PCN went live on August 1st, 2007, with four family physicians.
The Sexsmith Primary Care Network (PCN) also went live in August 2007 with three family physicians. In September 2010, three family physicians in Spirit River were approved to be a part of that PCN. The PCN was renamed to “Sexsmith/Spirit River Primary Care Network”.
The Merger: In 2017, physician members from West Peace PCN began merger talks with the neighbouring Sexsmith / Spirit River PCN. As the population needs and PCN programs developed were similar between the two PCNs, it was agreed that joining together would be advantageous. The amalgamation of the two PCNs was approved by Alberta Health, and as of April 2018, the organization was rebranded as Saddle Hills PCN.
